About the 2016 and 2017 startup weekends
In 2016, 21 startups applied and 8 teams of 48 entrepreneurs women were selected to compete, including:
- Ellie Grid, a smart pillbox. Ellie Grid makes managing medication easier and went on to raise more than $160,000 through a successful Indiegogo campaign.
- Poshare, a curated community of boutiques and designers that offer fashion for sale & rent. Poshare was interviewed for Houstonia magazine, among others.
In 2017, 37 startups applied and 10 teams of 60 entrepreneurs worked together in a fantastic weekend, including:
- Pheramor, dating application combining the science of genetic attraction and social media interests.
- The Tiny Heights, a tiny-house community making home ownership affordable.
